About this ebook

“I was so hooked!!… Gripping… It had me on the edge of the seat and I read it in one go!… Will keep you awake at night… Completely worth five stars!” Tropical Girl Reads Books, ⭐⭐⭐⭐⭐

The darkness closed around her. She tried to clear her vision, but there was no light, no noise, nothing. Only the emptiness, the echoing sound of being alone. Fear pulsed through her. The man had come out of nowhere. Who was he? Blinking away tears of frustration, in the pitch black she felt the floor and walls surrounding her. Cold. Steel. Bars.

Detective Ellie Reeves is hiking in the Appalachian Mountains when she discovers a body. As dusk falls, a gust of wind blows some petals on to Ellie’s path. Following the trail, she finds a golden-haired young woman dead on a bed of daffodils, with a note: Monday’s child is fair of face.

Thanks to her own past, the childhood she tries her hardest to forget, Ellie knows that the wilderness––and its shadows––is the perfect hunting ground for a criminal. She’s certain that the sinister nursery rhyme, written with an old-fashioned typewriter, means something.

It soon becomes clear when another body is found. Under the light of the moon, Ellie spots wildflower petals floating in a river. On the bank lies Tuesday’s child, another young woman who lost her life, far too soon, at the hands of a monster.

Ellie is up against a serial killer who will claim a victim for every day of the week. In the next twenty-four hours there will be another death, and when her own house is broken into, daffodil petals strewn across the floor, it’s clear the ruthless murderer has Ellie in his sights. Can she save more innocent women from his clutches? Or will he get to her first?

An utterly gripping and completely breathless crime thriller for fans of Lisa Regan, Kendra Elliot and Melinda Leigh. You’ll have trouble falling asleep after this heart-pounding page-turner!

Detective Ellie Reeves, while hiking in the Appalachian Mountains, literally stumbles across the body of a young woman. She's laying on a bed of daffodils, a branch wrapped around her neck, wearing clothes that do not belong to her. Her lips have been sewn shut and a note is found inside her mouth.... Monday’s child is fair of face And then she finds another body of a young woman ... left in the same condition as the first. Only the message is different.... Tuesday’s child is full of grace So begins the hunt for a serial killer with an agenda ... a killing everyday for a week. One of Ellie's team members is taken ... and Ellie, herself, is a target. Mesmerizing, exciting, gripping, riveting .... this one is chock full of action, with frequent changes of direction. There are varied suspects ... some rather closer than the detectives are aware. All the characters are solidly drawn. Ellie's backstory continues in this 2nd of the series, although it is easily read as a stand alone. But I highly recommend reading this series is order. No major cliffhanger .. but there is certainly room for another adventure for Ellie. Many thanks to the author / Bookouture / Netgalley for the digital copy of this crime fiction. For Detective Ellie Reeves latest case, we see her up against one of the most terrifying serial killers. Dubbed the weekday killer who leaves a chilling calling card with each of his victims, Ellie and the team have their work cut out for them in trying to stop the killer before he strikes again. It was good to be reunited with Ellie again and I felt her lingering pain as she still tries to come to terms with the events that occurred in The Silent Dolls, which still has the townsfolk against her. We see her resolve put to the test again as the case becomes personal, when her friend, Deputy Shrondra Eastwood goes missing. Once again the Appalachian Mountains are front and centre and have been brought to life so beautifully, although tainted with these new gruesome murders. They have become a significant character on their own, have been depicted so vividly and are the perfect backdrop to accompany the story. Whilst Rita Herron gives the reader good background into the events in book one, I would still recommend you starting with The Silent Dolls first before Wildflower Graves, to fully immerse yourself in the series. I guarantee you will not be disappointed! Wildflower Graves is the perfect addition to the Detective Ellie Reeves series. It is a fast paced, actioned packed, dark and graphic read that will get your heart pumping. A real page turner in every sense of the word and that ending! I need the next book stat! It was a pleasure to read and review Wildflower Graves, which I highly recommend.

Buckle up, put on your big panties, turn on the lights, lock the doors and always be aware of your surroundings. Suspenseful, thriller, gut wrenching, emotional and family, yes family. I asked to read this arc based on the premise. I love thrillers. This did not disappoint. I did not pay any attention to the fact this was book 2. The author does a fantastic job of making sure you can read this as a stand alone. If you do get a chance I would suggest reading book 1 first, just based on what is referenced it is flesh out, creepy suspenseful thriller in its own right. The horror that Ellie feels, the pain and gut wrenching that Shonda feels are expressed so that you feel them. The trail is twisty, turning, red herrings here and there, I had no clue no the culprit was. There was a jaw dropping moment towards the end, and the ending itself left me scrambling to see when the next book was coming out. No, not a cliff hanger, just a hint of what could be coming down the road. Well done! Thank you Rita Herron, Bookouture and NetGalley. I am hooked. I freely volunteer my thoughts and opinions.
