About this ebook

The authoritative guide to understanding and living with borderline personality disorder, now fully revised and updated

Millions of Americans suffer from borderline personality disorder (BPD), a psychiatric condition marked by extreme emotional instability, erratic and self-destructive behavior, and tumultuous relationships. Though it was once thought to be untreatable, today researchers and clinicians know that there is every reason for hope. Dr. Robert Friedel, a leading expert and pioneer in pharmacological treatment for BPD, combines his extensive knowledge and personal experience into this comprehensive guide. Borderline Personality Disorder Demystified shares:

  • The latest findings on the course and causes of the disorder
  • Up-to-date information on diagnosis
  • An accessible overview of cutting-edge treatment options
For those who have been diagnosed and those who think they may have the illness, and for the family and friends who love and support them, this book illuminates new information and points the way to an ever more hopeful future.

The revised edition includes new forewords from Donald W. Black, MD, and Nancee S. Blum, MSW, and family educators James and Diane Hall.

If you're diagnosed or even undiagnosed with BPD this book contains a lot of knowledgeable information to help you better understand your diagnosis, BPD that you see actors play in movies is not ideal. Even if you've been diagnosed for years this book will still teach you something you never knew. I highly recommend.

I have never been diagnosed with borderline personality disorder although several and I mean like 5 or 8 people have said "Girl I was diagnosed in 1999 or whenever 😆 and you are just like me." From what I have read It makes A lot of sense. Living with what I think to be BPD is hell at times mainly because I mean there' really not a whole lot of help for those of us suffering with this mental health 💔 issue. I seen somewhere this isnt treated with medication at all. Intense therapy and one on one counseling that seems to be the recommended fix. Wow it's so hard for me to speak to anyone because I have such great anxiety which I was diagnosed with general anxiety disorder 🙃 😅 🙂 😐 😕 😫 it's rough. So here I am scared to speak to people even if they do have a license which I will say I'd much rather do that then talk to a sponsor out of support groups. Trust issues. I'm seriously hoping that very soon I find the help I desperately need for my mental health issues. Maybe the book?!
