About this ebook

This fast-paced action novel is set in a future where the world has been almost destroyed. Like the award-winning novel Freak the Mighty, this is Philbrick at his very best. It's the story of an epileptic teenager nicknamed Spaz, who begins the heroic fight to bring human intelligence back to the planet. In a world where most people are plugged into brain-drain entertainment systems, Spaz is the rare human being who can see life as it really is. When he meets an old man called Ryter, he begins to learn about Earth and its past. With Ryter as his companion, Spaz sets off an unlikely quest to save his dying sister -- and in the process, perhaps the world.

When I was younger the only way you could get me to read a book is if it had more monsters and ghost then all my imagination. This book on the other hand was the first non horror book I could pick up an read in one sitting. Loved it as kid and still read it to this day. If I could I would give 10/5. Wish there was a sequel.

I read this in middle school for the sake of it. I don't regret reading it. I finished it on one d day. I was looking for it, though I didn't remember the title, but I saw it on my suggestion list, best moment of my life.
