Under Brant's safekeeping, the kids learn to accept that they’re exceptional people, not deadly mutants. But a looming war drains the entire school of its soldiers and even some of the instructors.
With the school exposed, KyeHan Lee, the school’s predictor, foresees an attack from a rogue school of adapted soldiers. But IAS’s leadership is entangled in crippling politics. And Brant’s connection to the controversial Knox has called into question his loyalty to the school.
Can Brant and the skeleton crew left at the school protect his students? What if he’s fired and sent away? Brant will need all the help he can get from Knox and the Maverick crew.
