Islamic Economics Seminar (1414/1993) jointly sponsored by the

International Institute of Islamic Thought and the World Bank.

This seminar adopted the theme of "The Role of Private and Public Sectors in

 Ehsan Ahmed was born in Pakistan on 2 Rabi’I 1371 AH/1 December 1951 AC. He Received a B.A. in Economics and Political Science from Punjab University, Pakistan, 1391 AH/1971 AC. He received an M.A. in Economics from the Government College, Lahore, Pakistan, 1394 AH/1974 A.C. and his second M.A. in Economics, with Honors, from Roosevelt University, Chicago, 1397 AH/1977 AC. He also received his Ph.D. in Economics from Michigan State University, Lansing, 1402 AH/1982 AC. Dr. Ahmed is currently a Professor of Economics at James Madison University, Virginia, since 1410 AH/1989AC. He is also an author, publisher, and participant in a number of conferences on various aspects of Islamic Economics. (1996).
