 Tommy thinks of himself as the clumsiest giraffe in the world. Try as he may, he can't stay upright for too long before taking a tumble. The other animals call him terrible nicknames and  that's what hurts him the most. He's too tall to run away and hide, so he must find another way to deal with the ridicule.

When Tommy sees a storm coming in the distance, he warns the other animals and they all take shelter. He is surprised to discover that his helpfulness has earned him some new friends. He bravely begins to do more for others. Being useful inspires him to look beyond his awkward height and all the ways he is different. Not everyone in Savanna is thankful, of course, some animals would love to eat him, but that doesn't stop Tommy from doing his best every day.

One day, poachers are heading toward Tommy and his friends. This puts the community's safety in danger! Motivated by love, Tommy realizes he is able to safeguard the lives of others and, in turn, learns something about himself that is very surprising.

Vividly illustrated, Tommy the Giraffe is a heartwarming animal tales children of all ages will relate to. It teaches valuable lessons about grace, purpose, and caring about others in spite of their actions, while emphasizing the importance of accepting and loving ourselves.

So inspiring! This is a beautiful story of a young Giraffe named Tommy. Tommy was bullied by others because he's too tall and awkward. He was mocked because of his look, he didn't have friends, he struggled with the whole situation. He was a sad giraffe with low self esteem. Luckily for him, things changed, he discovered his purpose, he discovered he can be useful no matter the situation. He discovered he can be useful and helpful with his tallness. Tommy became everyone's saviour, he was liked by everyone. He saved his friends and family from dangers using his tallness as an advantage. He was the tallest, he can do things others can't do. He realized his strengths and how special he is... This is an inspiring book, this the kind of book children needs to read, even the adults. This book will inspire you to believe in yourself, help you realize you have unique strengths that makes you special.

Destra has hit the nail on the head when it comes to this book about loving yourself and accepting what cannot change. My son is going through some personal issues and struggles himself, and reading this book together helped him to realize he's special and different and very, very loved. Tommy is a welcoming character with a lot of heart, and the author goes out of his way to make sure we know how the little giraffe feels as he works to overcome the obstacles on his path to acceptance. Very lovely book!

Tommy the Giraffe is not just a book . It is a lesson that tell kids that it's okay to be different because being different is not a bad thing. Bring different is unique and that is a beautiful thing to be so be your beautiful and unique self 💕
