I enjoyed book 1 of this duology, but found book 2 to be rather disappointing. I had a hard time getting back into the story and almost gave up reading it multiple times. I found Malik to be largely annoying and become bored with how long his loyalty to Farid lasted. It also frustrated me how quickly Karina forgave Malik when he stabbed her back multiple times and literally the front. Finally, the non-ending ending was massively disappointing after trudging through 500 pages. Some people may enjoying creating their own endings to books, but it's not my cup of tea.
