The human race is dying.
In the near future, genetic mutation causes everyone born after a certain date to mature into psychopaths. Massacres plague the nation. For the safety of all, anyone born after Red Line Day is interned, and giving birth is illegal.
Kyle and Addie are part of Generation Omega, the last people born before Red Line Day and the final senior class that will ever graduate. Their destiny will be to bury their elders and turn out the lights for all mankind. When Addie gets pregnant, the law is clear. She cannot carry a psychopath to term.
She and Kyle decide to run. A mythical town called Ashrama is said to exist where people live naturally, free of the disorder that created the Psychopocalypse. They set out to find it. Guided by the shadowy members of the Invisible Skyway, and assisted by their principal and a dying pharmacist from town, they begin a cross-country journey.
But much stands in their way. Escaped young psychs and bands of criminals ravage the no man’s land between cities. Government agents hunt anyone planning on breaking the rules of reproduction. And those they must trust often become betrayers when it serves their self-interest.
