About this ebook

Sparks fly when a ruthless alien warrior meets the one woman who can save his soul...

Toran NaLosen has no future and no hope. His path is bleak: die at thirty or sacrifice his emotions to survive a few more years. Stranded on Earth and far from home, the last person he expects to meet is the one woman meant for him, his denya.

Iris Mason protects the Earth in her own way by investigating threats and reporting on them to the Sol Defense Agency. At work she's thriving, but personally the past year has ground her down and tested her resolve. Still recovering from the implosion of her last relationship, she doesn't want the risk that comes with a new man. But when her job puts her on a collision course with Toran, a lightning bolt of desire hits her and has her questioning everything.

These adversaries must forge an alliance if any bond between them stands a chance, but it may not just be their hearts at stake. An ancient foe of the Detyen race lurks wherever they look and he has a new target in his sights: Earth.

Each Detyen Warriors novel can be read as a standalone. This science fiction romance series features feisty women, alpha aliens, fated mates, and relationships hot enough to steam up your screen. This book is great for readers of paranormal romance and sci fi romance who love to read in their free time!

This is an enjoyable read. It's 180pgs long. It took a little longer to read than I expected. Lots of action and bad guys. While there is some sex it is mostly plot. It is steamy enough though. I didn't read the first book but it was easy enough to follow. I would definitely recommend this book. I received a free copy of this book via Booksprout and am voluntarily leaving a review.

This is a really good story! Full of action, suspense, danger, pain and steam! I really love the main characters! Toran and Iris are so great! The heat is off the charts between these two! Yormas is a real piece of work and Varrow is definitely a sadist Although this is book 2 in the series it can be read as a stand alone read. The author does a good job with back history so you don't feel like you missed anything. However, it does make you want to back and read the first one as well as jump on the third story, Heartless, to see what next in store for the Detyens' and their mates.

Ruthless is book 2 in the Detyen Warriors series, a spinoff of the Mated To The Alien series. You don't have to read that series to read this one (and the reading order gets interesting), but reading Ruwen before this series would be beneficial. As a side note, reading Soulless (book 1) before this one is almost a must. It stands alone, but only by a hair and you will miss a lot. Written in 3rd person omniscient perspective from mostly the main two leads' point of view. Ruthless is Toran, the leader of our small contingent of Detyen Legion warriors. Unlike Raze, he still has his soul, though he's getting close to the age where he'll need to make the choice. He was raised a soldier, and his personality shows it: he's no no-nonsense, to the point, and, as the title implies, a bit ruthless. He is, however, very dedicated to his cause and his people. He cares for his soulless compatriots as best he's able, and the knowledge that he will likely have to call for their termination at some point pains him. Overall, I liked Toran's character. Iris was a good match, even if she wasn't a warrior. The softness balances him, I think. Iris is a human investigative reporter who has something of a hyper-focus issue when it comes to work. When she's assigned to the Detyen group to discover if they're a threat to earth or not, she's excited to be helping earth. Her odd instant attraction, and trust, in their leader throws a wrench in how she saw the investigation going. Iris doesn't jump headfirst into the bond like Sierra did, but that really didn't suit her personality, so I think the gradual acceptance fit well in this. She didn't fight it like a banshee, just sort of tested the waters slowly. Her overall gentle personality meshed well with Toran's rougher one. The story also progresses the underlying storyline of the series and we get some up close and personal with the suspicious ambassador Wreet. There's some action, a dose of drama from the rescued women, some heartwarming camaraderie, a dash of steam, and a tiny bit of comeuppance. If you like 100 year old mysteries, bright colored aliens, and some earth saving action with your romance, this is a good book for you.
