Oh my! Ryker is all kinds of goodness and hotness rolled into this single father goalie who is playing at this all-time best. Add into that and he is carrying on a secret affair with the newest GM of the team, the first female GM in the NHL. Gray Brannon has been working towards this all her life and now she could lose everything if they are found out. This one was so good! You could read this one as a standalone but I do not know why you would want to...

Five stars simply are not enough to express how much I loved this book!! If I were to come up with my dream man, Ryker would fit the description! Tough as nails and dominating on the ice, gentle giant at home is the best way to describe him. His ex wife obviously lost her mind!! The chemistry between Gray and Ryker is sizzling and keeping it contained just isn't going to happen. What will it cost them in the end?? Trust me, you want to read this one and find out! I highly recommend it!

So, would stating that Ryker had me doing the big happy sigh thing and practically hugging my ereader as I finished it be enough of a review to convince you if you are a true fan of romance that you MUST read this book? Possibly, but I’m sure you’d appreciate more a little more than that, so here it goes. Simply put Sawyer Bennett has another winner with Ryker! This book is everything I’ve come to love and enjoy from a Sawyer Bennett novel. It’s sweet, sexy, fun romantic read with just the right amount of drama with main characters that I adored from the first moment I met them and continued, without issue, throughout the entire book. I liked Ryker from the moment he and Zack had their first beer in the bar in Zack’s book and had a niggling feeling that I’d end up loving him before everything was said and done and I’ll admit that fell, hard, from the first scene in the book with him. And as we got to know him better as a father, hockey player and a man I was simply a gonner. I am now 100 percent on Team Ryker (sorry Alex). I could say it’s because he’s a great father or that he’s the epitome of a team player because he’s been around the block a few times and is over the primadonna bs and it’s all true. But what it boils down to is that he’s just that good guy that you’d want in your corner because you know he’d have your back and even if he didn’t agree with you, he’d let you know but still have your back. Gray was a true delight, which I’ll admit was a surprise. Why you ask? Well, when you have a woman who is not only the first woman to attain the position of GM of a major league sports team and be a certified genius, one tends to think that she has an overblown ego or that she’ll be difficult to relate to, but that isn’t the case with Grey. She’s shown to be a hard worker who, while being very goal oriented, is also quite personable. She’s got a great wit and a compassionate nature. Separately Ryker and Gray are wonderful, but together they are better. The mutual attraction, admiration and respect that they start out with in the beginning never fades but grows as they get to know each other. Those moments were sweet and oh so sexy! (Did I already mention how much I love Ryker?) There isn’t any excessive angsty drama between the two of them. Yes, there are hurdles they need to deal with, Gray’s position as GM, Ryker’s ex and a couple of other things, but they handle them as adults and just prove each time how perfect they are for each other. The Bottom Line: I simply adored this book and can’t wait for the next one! ~ARC received from Random House Publishing Group - Loveswept via NetGalley in exchange for an honest review ~
