“The perfect kind of high-pressure adventure.” —TeenVogue.com
A New York Times bestseller!

Red Queen meets The Hunger Games in this epic novel about what happens when a senator’s daughter is summoned to the galactic court as a hostage, but she’s really the galaxy’s most dangerous weapon in disguise.

A Diabolic is ruthless. A Diabolic is powerful. A Diabolic has a single task: Kill in order to protect the person you’ve been created for.

Nemesis is a Diabolic, a humanoid teenager created to protect a galactic senator’s daughter, Sidonia. The two have grown up side by side, but are in no way sisters. Nemesis is expected to give her life for Sidonia, and she would do so gladly. She would also take as many lives as necessary to keep Sidonia safe.

When the power-mad Emperor learns Sidonia’s father is participating in a rebellion, he summons Sidonia to the Galactic court. She is to serve as a hostage. Now, there is only one way for Nemesis to protect Sidonia. She must become her. Nemesis travels to the court disguised as Sidonia—a killing machine masquerading in a world of corrupt politicians and two-faced senators’ children. It’s a nest of vipers with threats on every side, but Nemesis must keep her true abilities a secret or risk everything.

As the Empire begins to fracture and rebellion looms closer, Nemesis learns there is something more to her than just deadly force. She finds a humanity truer than what she encounters from most humans. Amidst all the danger, action, and intrigue, her humanity just might be the thing that saves her life—and the empire.

About the author

S.J. Kincaid is the New York Times bestselling author of The Diabolic. Her debut novel, Insignia, was shortlisted for the Waterstones Children’s Book Prize. Its sequels, Vortex and Catalyst, have received starred reviews from Kirkus Reviews and Booklist. She’s chronically restless and has lived in California, Alabama, New Hampshire, Oregon, Illinois, and Scotland with no signs of staying in one place anytime soon.

THERE IS a war brewing and humanity is fighting for survival against the scourge of an alien reptilian race. But only the pure blood of a teenager can save the people of Mother Earth. In touch with a distant galaxy, he must enlist the help of newly discovered friends in order to fight the creatures in another dimension. Gaining special gifts in a distant and dangerous realm, the boys are readied for the ultimate fight to save the universe. Discovering magic, and learning how to use their newly acquired superpowers, the boys must unite with a band of giant Cyclops and small red-skinned aliens during one of the worst blizzards to ever hit the northeast.

This novel tells of the fiends who stalk the darkness, creatures who snatch the flesh from the living. Monsters in the Woods is an unrelenting and ferocious tale of a monstrous race invading our planet and the all-out war that follows.

Monsters is a heart-stopping rollercoaster ride of suspense, an adventure for those with enormous imaginations! After all, I want you uncomfortable, biting the tips of your fingernails down to the bloody nubs, grinding your teeth in a fit of vicious nerves, afraid to look under the bed. That’s bliss for me, watching as you shift your eyes from side to side, a nervous glance, a terrified expression planted on your face. That’s where I need you, horrified at the thud outside the window, a rustling in the back of your dark bedroom’s closet… a noise in the next room.

I should explain, this EPIC tale has roots in reality. It sprouts from honest to God reports of green and scaly creatures documented throughout humanity’s history. This telling speaks of what if? And oh my! Not long ago, I happened across a Hopi legend that warned of reptilian creatures who were said to have lived hundreds of feet below what is now downtown Hollywood. Many claim it’s the stuff of science fiction. Yet could it really be true?

When I first heard of the lizard people and their alleged existence during my annual pilgrimage to the International UFO Congress’ Annual Symposium held at the We-Ko-Pa Resort and Conference Center in Fountain Hills, Arizona, I had to wonder…could there really be something to this tale?

Keep in mind, scientists believe there are one-hundred-billion stars in our galaxy and ten-trillion galaxies in the observable universe. That means there are about 1,000,000,000,000,000,000,000,000 (a-thousand-quintillions or one sextillion) stars out there! It is believed that 7.6% of those are Class-G stars like our own sun. That’s important because it is estimated that almost all Class-G stars support at least one planet in which life must exist.

The Universe is believed to be teeming with life! If that is such, couldn’t there be other life forms like E.T. out there somewhere? And, If so, why is it so fundamentally insane to suppose they’ve been coming to Earth since the beginning of mankind to manipulate our DNA, hunt or live among us?

The Waking Dark is “a horror story worthy of Stephen King” (Booklist) and “a book you won’t soon forget” (Cassandra Clare, author of the Mortal Instruments series)—perfect for readers of Gillian Flynn and Rick Yancey.

They called it the killing day. Twelve people murdered, in the space of a few hours, their killers also all dead by their own hand . . . except one. And that one has no answers to offer the shattered town.

Something is waking in the sleepy town of Oleander, Kansas—something dark and hungry that lives in the flat earth and the open sky, in the vengeful hearts of its upstanding citizens. As the town begins a descent into blood and madness, five survivors of the killing day are the only ones who can stop Oleander from destroying itself.

They have nothing in common. They have nothing left to lose. And they have no way out. Which means they have no choice but to stand and fight, to face the darkness in their town—and in themselves.

“Suspense, chills, gasps—all that and a gem-like writing style that will make you shiver with beauty and horror. A book you won’t soon forget.” —Cassandra Clare, author of the bestselling Mortal Instruments series and Infernal Devices trilogy

“Twisted, pulse-pounding, shocking, and very, very scary. With The Waking Dark, Robin Wasserman conjures vintage Stephen King as she peers into the dark heart of a nightmare America, where violence and evil lurk behind the golden glow of small-town life, and new terrors arrive by the hour. A superb horror story that is by turns visceral and lyrical, heartrending and heart-stopping.” —Libba Bray, bestselling author of the Gemma Doyle trilogy and the Diviners series

“This book has the combination of mystery and fright that I love. So many twists and shocks, I nearly jumped out of my chair several times! Trust me—this is a true chiller. Not to be missed!” —R. L. Stine

“A thriller dark and beautiful and—yes—achingly romantic at every unexpected twist and turn. Astounding.” —Lauren Myracle, New York Times bestselling author of The Infinite Moment of Us and Bliss

“Wild, nihilistic madness that will get true horror fans raising their pitchforks and torches in frenzied glee. Wasserman writes as if hooked up to IVs of Stephen King and John Carpenter's spiked blood.” —Daniel Kraus, author of Rotters and Scowler

"Great dialogue and intriguing subplots add to the action-packed story . . . the suspense doesn’t let up until the final pages." —School Library Journal, Starred Review

Cyra Noavek and Akos Kereseth have grown up in enemy countries locked in a long-standing fight for dominance over their shared planet. When Akos and his brother are kidnapped by the ruling Noavek family, Akos is forced to serve Cyra, the sister of a dictator who governs with violence and fear. Cyra is known for her deadly power of transferring extraordinary pain unto others with simple touch, and her tyrant brother uses her as a weapon against those who challenge him. But as Akos fights for his own survival, he recognizes that Cyra is also fighting for hers, and that her true gift—resilience—might be what saves them both.

When Akos and Cyra are caught in the middle of a raging rebellion, everything they’ve been led to believe about their world and themselves must be called into question. But fighting for what’s right might mean betraying their countries, their families, and each other.

When the time comes, will they choose loyalty or love?

And don't miss The Fates Divide, Veronica Roth's powerful follow-up novel!

The acclaimed New York Times bestseller! Welcome, welcome to Caraval—Stephanie Garber’s sweeping tale of the unbreakable bond between two sisters. It’s the closest you'll ever find to magic in this world...

Scarlett has never left the tiny island where she and her beloved sister, Tella, live with their powerful, and cruel, father. Now Scarlett’s father has arranged a marriage for her, and Scarlett thinks her dreams of seeing Caraval, the far-away, once-a-year performance where the audience participates in the show, are over.

But this year, Scarlett’s long-dreamt of invitation finally arrives. With the help of a mysterious sailor, Tella whisks Scarlett away to the show. Only, as soon as they arrive, Tella is kidnapped by Caraval’s mastermind organizer, Legend. It turns out that this season’s Caraval revolves around Tella, and whoever finds her first is the winner.

Scarlett has been told that everything that happens during Caraval is only an elaborate performance. But she nevertheless becomes enmeshed in a game of love, heartbreak, and magic with the other players in the game. And whether Caraval is real or not, she must find Tella before the five nights of the game are over, a dangerous domino effect of consequences is set off, and her sister disappears forever.

Welcome, welcome to Caraval . . . beware of getting swept too far away.
