Sometimes, finding your destiny means doing the exact opposite of what The Fates have planned.

Winning the heart of an immortal assassin was a dream come true for Kristia Tostenson. Now she's caught in a whirlwind of wedding plans, goddess lessons, and stolen kisses with her fiancé. But her decision to become immortal could end in heartbreak--not only for Kristia, but also for the god who loves her. While Ull would do anything to protect his bride, even the God of Winter is powerless against the Norse apocalypse.

Ragnarok is coming. And the gods aren't even close to ready.

Kristia in Endre is dealing more with her dreams and elf man than in book 1 Elsker. Elf man is coming more often When Kristia has some close calls while in her dreams Ull is always there to comfort her and bring her out of those dreams. On a good not through the book she is still planning the wedding to Ull with the help of Inga and her roommates. Kristia is working out everything in her head between the sacrifices of life and being with the love of her life. She has chosen Ull through everything and she will continually to do so. But in the process she is afraid that Ragnarok will come to be and she is fighting everyday to use her abilities to help save the people that she loves. In Endre she began to understand herself and her abilities better and learn what she is to become. We come to learn what she is capable of. Kristia will end up marrying the only man she has ever loved and up until the wedding she was a bundle of nerves. She had so much to be nervous about as well as anxious. She had to pull off a wedding to a god from Asgard, spy on the enemy for Odin and become the goddess of winter. She is a lot stronger that she gives herself credit for and will continue to surprise everyone in how she ends up pulling everything off. I would recommend this book like the rest of S.T. Bende's books to everyone I can. She is a great author.

The second in the Elsker series seems to be more of a transition than a story in itself. In Endre we follow Kristia as she acclimates her life with Ull, and all that being with a Norse god entails. Like the first, it is well-written with interesting characters and a beautiful new insight to Norse mythology. This book mainly focuses on the interactions between the couple--and those who try to hinder their being together--and their feelings for each other, with a few minor side-stories thrown in regarding Kristia's visions and her impending role as The Seer. But these seem to be more set-up and anticipation-building than action in their purpose here. That said, it's a quick read and I am looking forward to seeing what happens next with all these kinks in Ull and Kristia's future together.
