Es werden mithilfe des Begriffs der "Vertikalstrukturen" die rhythmischen Abweichungen vom Metrum ermittelt sowie die Funktion der Gedichtform untersucht. Anschließend werden die Konnotationsebene als Strukturzusammenhang untersucht und analysiert (a) und die Bedeutung der Naturmethaphorik für den Textsinn untersucht (b).
