Carina ist überglücklich. Endlich hat sie den Mann fürs Leben gefunden - und eine Tochter dazu. Aber wenn sie gewusst hätte, was das Schicksal noch für sie bereithält, wäre sie wohl nie in das kleine Flugzeug gestiegen, mit dem sie, Bernd und Maja nach Mérida flogen.
Doch als Carina die aufgeregten Stimmen aus dem Cockpit hört, ist es bereits zu spät - rasend schnell verliert die Maschine an Höhe und stürzt schließlich mit einem lauten Krachen mitten im tropischen Urwald ab.
Als die junge Frau wieder zu sich kommt, vernimmt sie ein leises Stöhnen.
"Carina ... achte auf Maja ... gefährlich hier ... und suche nach Isabell ..."
Dann sinkt Bernds Kopf kraftlos an ihre Schulter. Fassungslos dreht sich Carina um und erstarrt:
Maja ist nicht mehr auf ihrem Platz, Bernd ist tot, und wer, um Himmels willen, ist Isabell?
