Ratings and reviews

The shortest of the three, Safe and Sound is a quick read. It had the adventure of the previous stories in the series, but lacked a strong female lead for me. Lola came across whiny and naive. A follower. Wanted to see more spirit and less gullibility. Max was the standard male lead. He had a personality that was take charge and bred a sensuality that Lola noticed right away. With a high predictability factor and an irritating protagonist (Baudin) this did not fill like a Leslie North novel to me. I received an ARC of Safe and Sound in exchange for an honest review. It was good but I expected more.

Max is security for a witness testifying for the mob, in a safe house awaiting trial when Lola literally crashes into in his life. From there mayhem ensues. Lola is a school teacher in the wrong place at the wrong/right time. Lola and Max have instant chemistry despite their unlikely and stressful circumstances. This is such a sweet, smart and sexy story. I can totally see this as a suspense/rom-com. Favorite in the series.

Third in this series. This has a definite twist and makes this story a little different from it’s predecessors. There is steam, but the story line makes this a good read.
