After Jane moved away, they had continued to write letters and Jane hopped that Matt would finally write and ask her to come “home" to him. When the letter arrived asking Jane to return and stay with his mom, Jane was sure Matt was finally going to ask her to marry him. Imagine her surprise when she finally saw Matt face to face, and he asks her to help him pick out a wife. What? Help him choose a wife, why not even consider her? It seemed he had narrowed his search down to five prospects but could not make a final decision and need her help. How in the world would she be able to show Matt who he really needed was her?
