A beautiful and sad telling of the early days in the desolate plains of Wyoming. Life was hard, resources were few but the friendship of neighbors broke the loneliness of the women living on the plains many miles from each other. This is the story of Ellen and Charlie and the life they grew to love. They had many struggles, some of them horrific, and their love carried them through it all. I voluntarily read and reviewed an advanced copy of this book. All thoughts and opinions are my own.
About the author
Sandra Dallas, dubbed “a quintessential American voice” in Vogue Magazine, is the author of over a dozen novels, including Prayers for Sale and Tallgrass, many translated into a dozen languages and optioned for films. Six-time winner of the Willa Award and four-time winner of the Spur Award, Dallas was a Business Week reporter for 35 years covering the Rocky Mountain region, and began writing fiction in 1990. She has two daughters and lives with her husband in Denver and Georgetown, Colorado.
