Years pass while Carson stays away from home, avoiding Hawk and the chill in the air from his family, and effectively avoiding Missy and the ever-present pressure, but it won’t last for long. When the truth finally sets Carson free, he retaliates, sending himself onto the battlefield, where he can forget about the betrayal and heartbreak, but also where he nearly ends his life. 

In an unexpected twist of fate, a face from Carson’s past shows up in his hospital room, but will Carson make the right move? Is it too late for Carson Thomas to change his path and do the right thing?

Talk about all books by this author having a cliff hanger ending...... Sandy always leave you hanging out for the next book, but don't think your going to have to have a revision of where your up to for a few chapters its always straight into the story. Having an understanding of military background may have made it easier for me to get into even more that the other members of this family I received a free copy of this book via Booksprout and am voluntarily leaving a review.

This is book eight in The A Town Without Pity Series and it is Carson and Kerry's story and it is definitely a must read. Carson has decided to go into The Military as things at home are not good with his brother Hawk and as he was leaving soon so needed to let his girlfriend Missy know and hopefully things would work out but when he came home on leave things with Missy didn't feel right and then he eventually found out why. Carson loves military life and he has also made friend's with Kerry who is such an amazing person and he feels like he can completely be himself around her and talk about everything but then Carson goes on a mission and everything goes wrong but what will happen next. Omg I couldn't put this book down as it was so addictive and a real page turner and so emotional with everything that happened but what an explosive cliff hanger ending and I am looking forward to reading the next book in this series. Sandy Appleyard is an amazing author and writer and she certainly knows how to keep her reader's attention and on the edge of their seats and I can't wait to read more of her books as they are definitely worth reading. About the Author

Sandy's first job out of high school was as an assistant animal groomer. Among many other jobs in her career, she's also worked at a prestigious winery that many well-known celebrities have patronized. With a college degree in Administration, she has several years of desk work under her belt, including her most current job at an established charity.

Often found in the lunchroom writing voraciously, Sandy has been called a 'writing machine'. Despite her forty-hour a week job, she still publishes at least one or two books per year. With a literary back list born in 2010, Sandy has branched out into several genres.

Married with two children and two furbabies, Sandy is a lover of all things four-legged. A strong advocate of health & fitness, you'll find her doing Yoga in her living room at 5:00 weekday mornings, which is sometimes when new story ideas come to light.
