About the author

Sandy Livingstone is the president of SL Discovery Consulting Services and a Registered Social Worker with over 25 years counseling experience. She officially formed her current company in 1990, after realizing the expanding need for resources on this topic. Sandy is a well-known anger expert, who specializes in building healthy communications skills and is devoted to help people understand and express anger in healthy ways. She is the author of the book, "Dealing with Anger", and a related "Step-by-Step Handbook for Professionals" who work with angry clients. She brings humor and energy to this often feared topic and provides practical tips for effective communication skills. For over twenty years, she developed and facilitated workshops for clients in treatment, and in 1986 was the first person in Edmonton, Alberta Canada to develop and facilitate anger courses to the public. Some of her clients included social service agencies, teachers, mental health groups, government and private sectors, police departments, crisis units, and shelters. From 1990-1997, Sandy taught "Dealing with Anger" courses through University of Alberta, Faculty of Extension and has appeared on numerous radio and television shows as an expert guest including an appearance on The Sally Show in New York, "I'm Afraid of Your Rage".
