A chance meeting leads the widower's charming young daughter to immediately befriend Mabel, and she innocently leads the way toward resolving the animosity between the two families. Mabel and Jensen have so much simmering tension and chemistry to spare, and they each know there's no earthly reason to perpetuate the feud, yet they both face nearly unbearable pressure from their respective families to continue the blame and mistrust that has divided them for so long. It was exquisite torture to watch these two struggle with their growing feelings while still trying to respect the family traditions. The HEA was sweet and triumphant, and was so much more than just the magic of a child bringing them together. This author really knows how to bring all the heartfelt emotions into play, letting the romance truly drive the story forward and leaving this reader with a sigh-filled book hangover.
