I was excited to get Legend’s and Peppers story. I knew it was going to be a good one. I wasn’t disappointed. I really enjoyed seeing Legend and Pepper come together for a very good reason. The quirky neighbor turns out to be a very good friend to Legend. She’s there for him when he really needs someone. Legend ends up being a really good guy too. I figured he’d be a “player” as in womanizer, not hockey player. He was a stand up guy and good friend. I adored reading this story and look forward to getting more from the guys of the Arizona Vengeance.

This is book #3, in the Arizona Vengeance series. This book can be read as a standalone novel. For reader enjoyment, and to avoid spoilers, I recommend reading this series in order. Legend and Pepper are neighbors. She annoys him, and he lives for it since he is incredibly attracted to her. When surprised one night, he finds out that Pepper is the friend he never knew he needed. Pepper has always had a major crush on Legend. She already has other friends in the NHL, and she understands the demands on his time and schedule. When he asks her for help - she does not hesitate. This series is already amazing. These characters are some of the best yet. All of the main players in this NHL team are great together. This story was a bit of a fast pace with everything happening so fast. I love how all the characters are so interesting and deep. ***This ARC copy was given in exchange for an honest review only.

Legend Bay is the star goalie of the newest NHL team the Arizona Vengeance. He's pretty much got everything going for him, his game is great, he's got good teammates/friends and he can pretty much have any woman he wants. One thing he's made very clear is that he's easily annoyed by his gorgeous neighbor Pepper Nantais. She tends to like bold colors, lots of lights at Christmas and lawn ornaments at other times of the year. When Legend returns home one day and receives some life changing news, it's Pepper, the children's book writer, who is there to lend a hand and an ear. As the two of them set about navigating the new landscape that Legend finds before him, Pepper is more helpful than he could ever imagine. It doesn't take long for Legend to realize that Pepper is not who he thought she was and the sparks that begin flying between them are unstoppable. Will the two people who were not looking for a relationship be able to deal with rocky times and a few curve balls in order to make their relationship work? I enjoyed this new addition to the Arizona Vengeance series. It was nice to see some familiar faces from the Carolina Cold Fury series, as well as Legends current teammates. Another great work by Sawyer Bennett and one you're going to want to pick up!
