About this ebook

The #1 New York Times best-selling author of Infected delivers medieval carnage as a pre-industrial society fights extinction at the hands of a massive infestation of Xenomorphs.

Ataegina was an isolated world of medieval castles, varied cultures, and conquests, vibrant until the demons rose and spread relentless destruction. Swarms of lethal creatures with black husks, murderous claws, barbed tails and dreaded "tooth-tongues" raged through the lowlands, killing ninety percent of the planet's population. Terrified survivors fled to hidden mountain keeps where they eke out a meager existence. When a trio of young warriors discovers a new weapon, they see a chance to end this curse. To save humanity, the trio must fight their way to the tunnels of Black Smoke Mountain--the lair of the mythical Demon Mother.

Awesome story about a civilization in the Aliens universe that is able to grow & evolve through great adversity in many more ways than one. Characters are real, inclusive, & are believeable. The story truly makes one think critically about how a true leader is a protector; not a loud-mouth oaf who shuts down progress. One who looks after the group, unafraid of vulnerability, embracing change & knowledge. Accepting of how differences can empower the whole. If Disney is going to do anything constructive with the franchise bought from Fox - this story & it's sequels deserve to be immortalized in film.

Well written, original story that pays homage to the lore. It's one of those books, a stand-alone, that branches off and takes you in an unexpected direction. It refreshes the ideas that the xenomorphs are not limited to the corporations relentless exploitation or stuck, forever cannon fodder for the colonial Marines. brings you back, in a distant way, to the original film's suspense and desperation. good to taste a few chapters here and there, or go blue up the whole book in one sitting. I thoroughly enjoyed it and I hope you will too.

Read this book about 4 times so far, still a good book. I like that this book actually ends on the last page unlike books that may say 400 pages but are only 280 or so due to samples. anyway great book 👍😀
