About this eBook

Enjoy this clean, small-town western romance by award-winning and bestselling author Lucinda Race.

In a small Montana town, love blossomed between Renee Mitchell and Hank Shepard. As teenagers, they were inseparable until a misunderstanding during freshman year of college drove them apart. Two decades have passed since they’ve talked, but a family emergency brings them full circle—back to where love blossomed.

Renee’s lifelong dream was to take over her family’s apple orchard. But a herd of cattle wreaks havoc on her newly planted trees.

Thundering across the pastureland, astride a black stallion, Hank Shepard is ready to save the day and drive the cattle back to his family ranch. Now that he’s back, he’s intent on mending more than fences. As he works by Renee’s side, helping her replant the tree stock his family’s cattle destroyed, dormant feelings between Renee and Hank spring to life like the orchard after a long, cold Montana winter.

Yet, it’s inevitable that Hank will return to his law practice in Texas. Will a long-distance relationship between Hank and Renee fan the flames of love, or will it vanish like apple blossoms in spring?

Second Chances in Montana is the first novel in the Cowboys of River Junction Series, although each book can be read as standalone. A sweet and clean romantic story with a guaranteed happily ever after. Happy reading!

Renee is floored when she sees Hank riding towards her. It's been years since they parted for college, stepping out into the world, ready to live their best lives. They couldn't compromise, so they split, forging separate paths though they had loved each other forever. Now she's home to stay, taking over her family's apple orchard. He lives in Dallas, so very far away from his small hometown. And he doesn't want to come back. Time has done nothing to erase the longing either feels, though. Maybe this time around, they'll get it right. A sweet story filled with wonderful characters, down to the cows who stomped all over Renee's saplings. The lovers might never have spoken again if not for those hungry bovines. I thought the resort angle would be more dramatic, but it fizzled out with no drama. Maybe in the next book. This book is an updated and expanded version of the book Apple Blossoms in Montana and is now considered the first book in the series Cowboys of River Junction. Renee takes over her family's apple orchard and has big plans to expand it. Hank is home to help his parents with their family ranch after his dad was hurt. Hank and Renee broke each others hearts before heading to college but neither have ever found someone to love. They have a second chance at love but Hank has plans to leave and go back to his job in Dallas. Sweet, clean romance, I loved it and the series it is part of. This author's books are well written, well thought out with interesting story lines and loveable characters. She also does not follow the Stupidity Formula that is so common nowadays with characters that cannot communicate, and act and think stupid. There aren't any silly misunderstandings. Second Chances in Montana, #4 - This is such a sweet story filled with love, loyalty, family, romance and community. Good humor and no silly drama. Source: Booksprout. 5* Cowboys of River Junction: Stars Over Montana, #1 - My first read by this author. Although the repetition about their break up from the past got on my nerves, the story is a sweet, interesting second chance for two people that deserve each other. 4* Hiding in Montana, #2 - A sweet romantic, dramatic addition to the Stars Over Montana series. Enjoyable with the romance and the intrigue. 5* Moonlight Over Montana, #3 - Another well written, funny, romantic, family oriented story filled with a great cast of characters. There is s
