The sting of this Scorpio is unforgettably hot...

Ivy Danforth is out from under her colonel father's overprotective control, and she's making it count. Big time. She's taken the summer off to travel through Australia with her bestie and experiencing all that life has to offer-when you're not under constant military surveillance. She wants to end her summer with some sexy fun, and she has just the hottie in mind.

Seth Rodrigo is ex-Special Forces working undercover and keeping an eye on Ivy as a special favor to her father. All he has to do is not give the game away and reveal who he really is. And especially not give into the hunger that's burning through his careful control...

Then they're forced into protective custody. Alone. Together. For four days. And this time, the colonel's daughter isn't taking no for an answer...

Not really sure how I feel about The Colonel's Daughter. Normally I love Amy Andrews. Ms. Andrews brings fresh, unexpected and amusing stories and characters to whatever she writes. This read was all of those things. The mishaps and antics were funny, Seth was sexy and the story flowed nicely. Could not say the same for Ivy. I rotated between amused and irritated. I received an ARC of this story in exchange for an honest review. The Colonel's Daughter is a pleasing read. I just was not a fan of Ivy.

Finally out from under her father's overprotective thumb, Ivy Danforth is traveling around Australia experiencing life. Her last goal before returning home is having some fun sexy times. Hopefully with the hunky bouncer working at the same bar she is. Seth Rodrigo owes his life to Ivy's father. For that reason he agreed to keep an eye on her while she's away from home. All he has to do is keep his libido under control and not let her know anything about his connection to her father. Everything is going well until they witness a crime and are forced into protective custody. Alone. In a hotel room. With a huge bed..... This was a very entertaining read. Loved the characters. Bits of the story were pretty predictable though but overall a good read.

About the author

Amy Andrews is an award-winning author who has written twenty-eight romances. She has sold over a million books and has been translated into a dozen different languages. She wrote her first book at the age of twenty-two while unemployed and freezing her butt off in the UK, largely because it involved being able to stay in bed with her electric blanket. One twelve year apprenticeship later she finally got "the call". In 2010 she took out the sexy category in the prestigious Australian Romantic Book of the Year Award affectionately known as the R*BY.

In what she euphemistically likes to call her spare time, she works part time as a pediatric intensive care nurse and was on the national executive for Romance Writers Of Australia for six years during which time she organised two national conferences and undertook a two year term as president.

She's been married for twenty-two years and has two teenagers who only admit to her being a writer when they have to explain to their friends why there's no food in the house. She lives on acreage on the outskirts of Brisbane with a gorgeous mountain view.
