If you enjoyed A World Without Heroes you will get engrossed in this return to Lyrian. The 2nd novel doesn't start out as fast as the first, but when do they ever. Jason is the character that moves the series for me, so I can understand if this novel focuses a bit too much on Rachel for some. However, the high fantasy style is all there with giants, ghostly specters, various races created by Wizards, including the mindful and mindless dead. I have already preordered the final epic story in this tale.

With its clever plot, intriguing characters, and exquisite balance of action, imagination, empathy, mystery, and reality, Mull's sequel to A World Without Heroes is superb, perhaps even surpassing it's predecessor. Seeds of Rebellion will leave you with a hunger for more.
