About this eBook

Rio is tasked with escorting Princess Christina and her party to Rodania as they flee from the Beltrum Kingdom's Royal Guard, led by none other than Charles Arbor. Thanks to Sara and the other spirit folk girls, the group steadily puts distance between their pursuers, giving Christina the time to reflect on her past. She is quietly haunted by her inability to apologize to Rio for what occurred during their tenure at the Royal Academy.

In the shadows, Reiss pursues Rio on his own, moving his pawns to slowly but surely ensnare him in his net!

A lot of goodies in this volume. I specially enjoyed the princess' POV on Rio in their time at school. I do hope she can recover from the inferiority complex somewhere down the story. About the chase though, there are some things bothering me. They should have been made aware of how fast Reiss, or possible accomplices, could have traveled seeing how they were ambushed at the post town. So, why is it that they were surprised that Reiss got Charles' group to ambush them? Also, how did a marching army of 5000 overtake them unware in such a short span of time? The logistics doesn't add up even if magic is taken into account. Finally, having that many troops moving anywhere near the border to another country should have raised concerns for a possible invasion. It surely made a grand scene for a power fantasy, but it's a bit of a miss in world building. I guess intelligence systems aren't a thing in this world, except if you're a teleporting ghost with untraceable allies.
