This is the first book of Selina A. Fenech I really did not get into. That being said I can not say that someone else will love the story. I will read the next story to see if I get into it more. This is a YA book. I'm hoping I will get into the next book more. So go ahead and follow these characters on their journey. I received a free copy of this book via Booksprout and am voluntarily leaving a review.

Immersive YA Fantasy World What an excellent beginning to a young adult fantasy series! The author draws you right in with an action scene that gets you immediately empathizing with the main character and her plight. The author is able to convey the fear the character feels and the lack of knowledge that frustrates her. The heroine is thrust into this world that is not her own, and she has no sense of who she actually is or how she got there. But she is immediately imperiled and is soon mixed up with more than she had ever dreamt of in her previous reality. She does have an ally or two, but more are against her than for her. What truly makes this book above and beyond most other young adult fantasy books is the complexity of the world—which thankfully the author does not info dump about—the depth of the characterizations, and the evocative illustrations. You don't usually see illustrations like this included in young adult fantasy books; illustrations are often just left for books meant for younger readers. These illustrations are perfect and give you a true vision of what the characters feel and what their world is. If you enjoy young adult fantasy series, this is a start to what looks like will be a fantastic one. I received a free copy of this book, but that did not affect my review.
