About this eBook

A High School Bully Romance

Seren Grayson is a tempest. Heartless and destructive to anyone who crosses his path. But because of his good looks and talent on the football field, the students at Windham Prep adore him. They respect his boldness. They fear his wrath. And, they believe they know the real Seren.

But they don’t.

When I’m forced to move into Seren’s home, I unexpectedly unleash his wrath and become his latest target. He may think I'm easy prey because I’m the housekeeper’s daughter, but he’s wrong. I’m not someone who will cower or back down when I'm pushed.

I’ll push back. Harder.

The longer I spend in Windham, the more I unravel the mysteries of Seren and Grayson Manor. Who knew it would take an outsider to soften his tough exterior and discover the truth behind the lies.

Seren and Grace may begin their relationship as enemies because Seren acts like a boy who likes a girl and doesn't know how to get her attention so he chooses violent acts toward the girl instead. Some of his actions make me giggling and I think his brothers know him well. I like their siblings' bond. The best thing is Grace is not afraid of Seren and his friends and she fights them back. The story is full of lies and secrets but I think Seren's just angry with his mother and their situation doesn't make him feel better. Then Grace happens. I think they bond with each other because they both lost someone they loved. The plot about who is a villain is quite easily predictable and I have to remind myself that they both are just teenagers. The book is well written and easy to read. If I have to compare it with another books in this category, Seren is less angsty and lighter but it's steamy and has a few dark moments. At the end, I think Seren and Grace's love story is quite entertaining:)

I enjoyed this book. The story held my attention, and the characters maintained my interest. Grace, I liked, and I thought Seren had a lot of potential. However, I didn't feel that we truly dug deep enough as far as he was concerned. Still, the book read smoothly, and it kept me entertained. I am posting an unbiased, unsolicited review.

3.5/5 After the death of her father, Grace has to move into the mansion her mother works in. In Grayson manor, the three Grayson boys already have a reputation. Seren, Saint and Sawyer are known for their wicked humour and unkind demeanor, acting out after their father's death. She's warned to stay clear of them, but fate had other plans. Seren grow up with wealth and after his father died three years previously, he turned into a cold and uncaring d*ckhead. He's mean and rough, knowing full well what people think of him. Grace is unphased and unafraid of him, something he can't seem to handle. Try as he might, she'll still call him out and never let him win. Seren dreams of being a star quarterback, following his hero's shoes. Fighting for his dream and family responsibilities, conflict is always around - especially with his mother and her husband. Grace is still in the throes of grief, and moving away from her life and friends is the last thing she wanted when she only had 3 months left of high school. Her dream, becoming a marine biologist, is something she feels she now has to make happen to fulfill her dad's vision and honour his memory. Being stuck in a house with 3 boys, with one introduction happening in less than stellar circumstances, was not on the cards. Having one torment her is the cherry on top of less than ideal fun. I enjoyed how vulnerable Seren could be around Grace, and how she brought a different side to him out, possible the "real" side. His softer, more thoughtful side - every gift he gave Grace was incredibly touching and personal - and him finding someone to share the burdens of his head with was a really nice depiction of a relationship. He trusted her and felt a connection to her from the get go, but hated it and wanted to hide away from the truth. Grace didn't go through as much character development, she more solidified herself as knowing who she was. Her confidence did grow and seeing her trust and fight for what she wanted was an interesting read. I wish we got more from his POV, I really enjoyed how Nathan put across the volatile and unpredictable nature of a teenage boy going through all he was. This was my first J. Nathan novel and I loved the character writing. Both Grace and Seren nearly had entirely different feels to them while reading which I'm always happy to get. ***SPOILERS**** I did not enjoy the ending. I did like the twist of [ Martine being the mastermind behind the poisoning but the rushed arrest scene was a bit all over the place. It all happened in the space of a few days and then it was over with in no time. The marriage proposal was out of nowhere, they weren't even together a year at that point and they were in their first year of college. The book was great and the pacing was solid until about 85% and then it just felt like everything had to be wrapped up in a certain number of pages. I did like the world building and cattiness that came across throughout the different characters that came up like Kiki, Laney and Christa. Overall, well worth a read! I received an ARC copy of the book for an honest review. All opinions are mine alone.
