SHADOW ON THE CROWN is the first time I've read about Emma of Normandy (984-1052) and was delighted to immerse myself in an entirely new period. A fascinating woman married to a brute of a husband.

She holds an M.A. in English Literature and her historical research has taken her to Britain, France and Denmark. She has two grown sons, and she lives with her husband in Oakland, California.
