While some of the guidelines in this book may be useful for a young lady who has never attended a cotillion class or received a copy of Emily Post as a child, the majority of the "rules" in this book outrage me. You are in way obliged to invite a single friend "and guest". Engaged couples or married couples with different last names should most certainly receive one invitation separating the names onto two lines. Don't let anyone tell you that the staff you hire deserve a seat at your wedding. A nice boxed meal prepared by the caterer is all you need. I feel terribly sorry for any bride who has used this book as a reference during the wedding planning process. Pick up a copy of Emily Post!
