Maxon and Keely's book remains my favourite so far. It's heartbreaking how parents can cause so much damage to their children, leaving them so broken to have healthy relationships. Noah speaks of love but when it matters most he had this verbal blockage and couldn't dignify what was supposed to be vows and promises of eternal devotion from his shark of an agent. Worsened by Harlow's brokenness it's an ill fated relationship.

Great addition to the series….steamy with all the feels Noah Weston, a retired NFL quarterback, stumbles upon Harlow poolside on the property he just bought. Though Harlow is mildly aware of his celebrity status, she’s not much impressed with football or Noah. Until he takes his shirt off. All those rippling muscles get her attention, and Noah’s pleased she’s interested. There’s instant lust and lots of electricity between these two. Harlow Reed spots all the subtle signs Noah’s exhibiting with his speech, especially when he’s exhausted or nervous. There are certain things Noah needs to keep secret until he can move further in the next phase of his career as a sports commentator. Working on her Masters in Speech, she knows all too well the difficulties patients with traumatic head injuries struggle with. The help Harlow offers would benefit both her and Noah. As they spend time together he can’t get enough of the feisty, quick-witted woman. Slowly Noah breaks down the walls Harlow’s built around her heart from a past hurt. I love how Noah has so much patience making his so irresistible. Ms. Black gives us a well-written, erotic romance with plenty of steamy scenes, drama, and love. I like seeing Harlow’s brothers who were featured in the previous books of More Than Words series. I loved Harlow and Noah’s story and it was a delightful pleasure. I received and voluntarily reviewed an advance reader copy of this book.

Who knew escaping to paradise would mean finding love? I do recommend reading the first two books beforehand to understand the Reed family dynamic and get to know the characters that make appearances. Scandal has both Noah Weston and Harlow Reed hiding out at a private ocean-front property. Neither is looking for a relationship, but they decide to use their passion and attraction to present themselves as a supportive and loving couple until the scandals pass over. But what happens when the ruse is over, and they realize it more? This book has the roles reversed. The male character is usually the one shying away from love, but not Noah. No once he realizes what he feels, he then makes it his mission to convince Harlow that she feels the same. But he has a hard road ahead of him with that. Harlow’s outlook on love has been destroyed. She has built the walls surrounding her heart high. But if anyone can break them down or find a way over them its Noah. I love the inclusion of Harlow’s brothers Maxon and Griff and their wives into the story. It was like visiting family and catching up a bit. Shayla has written another fully captivating book within this series. As always, I loved it and I cannot wait to see what she gives me next. Five Scandalous stars!!!
