He's been moving around the country to hide the fact that he has created a mini work-force to work on a miniaturised house. Once the house is complete, he plans to use it as a fairground attraction, rather like an old-fashioned freak show. Time is running out, and soon Ralph finds himself miniaturised too...

Chris d'Lacey is a hugely talented children's writer. This is his fourth book for Orchard. He lives in Leicester with his wife, though they also spend a lot of time by the sea in Devon. For many years Chris worked as a scientist at Leicester University, but he has now given up the day-job so he can write full time.
