In Prosatexten der späten 1970er und der 1980er Jahre (u.a. von Christine Wolter, Helga Königsdorf, Roswitha Geppert, Waldtraut Lewin, Charlotte Worgitzky, Helga Schubert, Gabriele Eckart, Brigitte Struzyk, Gabriele Stötzer sowie Veröffentlichungen in der Zeitschrift frau anders) untersucht Sina Meißgeier Darstellungen von Lesben und Motive weiblicher Homosexualität sowie sprachliche Symbolik und die Darstellung von Raum und Zeit. In der Analyse verbindet sie die traditionelle, formalistisch ausgerichtete Erzähltheorie Franz K. Stanzels mit gender-sensibler Narratologie und nutzt dafür Analysekategorien der Gender und Queer Studies. Sie zeigt einmal mehr die Bedeutung der DDR-Texte als Zeugnisse von Ästhetik und Erinnerung.
