This book is written around 1920 ,almost 100 years back during Brirish times. Author relies heavily on British Letters , Persian court records and at places on marathi Sabhasad Bakhar written 20 years after Shivaji Maharaj's Death. This scholarly work is great reading for understanding life of Raja Shivaji and his establishment of Swaraj. This Bengali author writing about Maratha King during British time does come across as slightly biased against Raja Shivaji and full flattering of British . This scholarly work with strong references for each statement. A must read.
