I love the Dresden Files. I think it's a lot of fun and surprisingly engaging. After Changes, I felt like the series was getting a major shakeup and I was extremely excited to see Harry take his next step in life. Problem is, that didn't really happen. I really enjoyed Skin Game, but it didn't deliver on some of the promises I was expecting after the last two books. It hinted at a few things (fomor etc.) but we still haven't landed at any understanding of....anything! Definitely a worthy edition to the series, but I'm looking forward to getting back to the excitement of the previous two books.

I love the way Butcher goes about the development of the characters in such a way as to get the reader to buy into the series even at this late stage. The little nibbles you get with some of the major characters, like with Karrin and Molly, are my favorite parts because I get to let my mind wander around those dynamics.

Jim Butcher has a way with character and plot that makes his books hard to put down. Skin game is no different. A great heist story and up there with all the other Dresden books. Keeping coming, Jim.

About the author

A martial arts enthusiast whose résumé includes a long list of skills rendered obsolete at least two hundred years ago, #1 New York Times bestselling author Jim Butcher turned to writing as a career because anything else probably would have driven him insane. He lives mostly inside his own head so that he can write down the conversation of his imaginary friends, but his head can generally be found in Independence, Missouri. Jim is the author of the Dresden Files, the Codex Alera novels, and the Cinder Spires series, which began with The Aeronaut’s Windlass.
