“For you see, each day I love you more, today, more than yesterday and less than tomorrow.” ~ Rosemonde Gerard Matthew, of ‘More Than Ever’ by Sloan Parker, is the youngest and most vulnerable of his family. Neither Richard nor Luke have had a carefree life, but they have had more time to face their circumstances and move beyond them. Matthew feels that he is not deserving of the two magnificent, successful men he is with. He wants to feel like he has accomplished something, but instead of talking about his secret fear, he goes along with whatever they want, whether he wants it or not. Matthew’s silence and compliance come back to haunt him, breaking through at a critical part in their lovemaking, giving Luke and, especially Richard, pause; they wonder how many other times Matthew has kept silent, trying to please them, when he should have spoken up. Even though Matthew has gone to school to learn how to be a veterinary technician, he is having a difficult time finding a job. He has always had feelings of insecurity and of being abandoned, particularly since his father left him and his mother. Since Matthew has never faced the situation, it has grown to monumental proportions. He loves Richard and Luke, but the incident of him not being honest in bed, has put a huge dent in their love life. They are almost afraid to touch him for fear of doing something he does not want. Matthew feels like he has ruined the intimacy between the three of them and it will never be like it was before. Matthew has always been my favorite character in the ‘More’ series. Although Luke and Richard have never deliberately done anything to make Matthew feel inferior in any way, he has always felt like he is not “good enough” to be with these two strong, successful men. Being so much younger than his partners, I have to admit that they have been protective of him, but they did it out of love, not because they felt he was inferior. It was good to see him get beyond the ghosts that have haunted him, and take his rightful place as an equal partner for Richard and Luke. Thanks, Sloan, for an awesome addition to the ‘More’ series.

I did not read the first two books so you do not need to read them in order to enjoy the series. The triad is having trouble adjusting due to a lack of communication and loss of trust. The first third of the book is filled with sex and self-reflection so it stalled a bit for me. The best parts start to happen when Matthew is waiting for a response about an internship. It looks like his many hang ups explode all over the place and are tangled up in a new mystery. Here is where it gets good. There is still a whole lot of sex while they are in the middle of danger and I found myself skimming those parts. The physical journey they are on forces them to deal with their issues so I listened to what they said before and after sex because what they say is special and gritty and very real. I was on tenterhooks while reading that part so yeah, it really saved the story for me. It ends with a nice HEA and a wrap up to the series. one of the hardest things, I found, about being in a committed relationship is that all the junk left over from ghosts of love past, family junk, or just stupid things you did along the way - they all have to be worked through . Everyone has to compromise, and gets in spats. Its not about trying not to fight, but about keeping open communication, and how you put things out to your partners, that counts in the end. sometimes, there really are things in our life that you cannot un-say or un-do. Maybe it is junk that happened with your dad. Maybe it is the unfortunate way you reacted to certain situation between you that you did not work through, and the over-cautious way you handle each other now feels off. Richard and Matthew and Luke have more partners, so more opportunities to make this not quite right - and more chances to make things better. A favorite work and family retreat locale becomes lethally dangerous. Can they manage to trust each other, as well as their own individual instincts enough to safely find their friend in need, and find their own way home? an exciting suspense filled m/m/m romance I received a free copy of this book via Booksprout and am voluntarily leaving a review.
