Sartaj Sahni is a Distinguished Professor and Chair of Computer and Informa-tion Sciences and Engineering at the University of Florida. He is also a Fellow of IEEE, ACM, AAAS, and the Minnesota Supercomputer Institute, and a Distin-guished Alumnus of IIT Kanpur. In 1997, he was awarded the IEEE Taylor L. Booth Education Award ?for contributions to Computer Science and Engineering education...? He got his PhD in Computer Science from Cornell University. Dr. Sahni has published over 250 research papers and written 14 textbooks. His papers are on the design and analysis of efficient algorithms, parallel computing, interconnection networks, design automation, and medical algo-rithms. His textbooks are on data structures, algorithms, parallel algorithms, discrete structures, and software development. Dr. Sahni is a co-editor-in-chief of the Journal of Parallel & Distributed Computing and a managing editor of the International Journal of Foundations of Computer Science. He has served as pro-gram committee chair, general chair, and been a keynote speaker at many confer-ences.
