About this eBook

The thrilling and long-awaited conclusion to the Newbery Medal–winning Giver Quartet by Lois Lowry.

They called her Water Claire. When she washed up on their shore, no one knew that she came from a society where emotions and colors didn’t exist.

That she had become a Vessel at age thirteen. That she had carried a Product at age fourteen. That it had been stolen from her body. Claire had a son. But what became of him she never knew. What was his name? Was he even alive? She was supposed to forget him, but that was impossible.

Now Claire will stop at nothing to find her child, even if it means making an unimaginable sacrifice.

Son thrusts readers once again into the chilling world of the Newbery Medal-winning The Giver, as well as the companion books Gathering Blue and Messenger. In this thrilling series finale, the startling and long-awaited conclusion to Lois Lowry’s epic tale culminates in a final clash between good and evil in which a new hero emerges.

I'm very disappointed in this final book. The Giver is my all time fav book. Since I read it 12 yrs ago in high school and many more times. The next two books weren't as great as the first. But they were good and would recommend them to be read. It is nice how he ties all the characters together. That is the reason I gave this book a 2 star.I like how you learn more about the characters and what happened to them. But the ending was horrible.I felt like there could of been more and this was waste time/money.

The Giver has been one of my favorite books for 15+ years now. For 15+ years I've yearned for a sequel. When I learned last week that there were three books written after the Giver, I immediately bought them and devoured Gathering Blue and Messenger. Although, I enjoyed reading them and liked the characters (I.e. Matty, Seer) I wanted to learn more about the characters in the original book. Now mind you, I've only read up to chapter 8 in Son, but I believe I'm about to get exactly what it is I wanted!

I love how connected the books become, I forgot the boys name was Jonas and the baby's name was Gabe because I read the giver a couple of years ago. I haven't finished the book yet and hope that I figure out more about the community Jonas went to in the Giver. If the could give out Newberry awards for a series thus would defiantly be one.
