Free books are never great, but this one was absolute trash. Predictable. There are dozens of mistakes with spelling and incorrect words. Lots of repeated info such as one guy removing a key from his pocket twice in two paragraphs. Ages change. The worst for me was that the story itself was not only extremely predictable but made no sense. An immature 39/40 year old woman inherits a house after the first few chapters of her going on and on about how she has a dream of owning a B&B. Within 2 weeks of getting the keys (no paperwork or anything, no proving she's who she says she is, a lawyer just hands her the key and it's hers), the house is open for business as a B&B! Again, no license needed or anything! Awful characters who are rude, bland, and downright stupid. A murder that could have been avoided if the deceased could only smell or hang on to the sides of the basket! Not sure how the people with low IQs could enjoy this one looks like some have! Skip it to save your brain cells.

This is without a doubt one of the best written books I have read this month! Though the beginning is the same as many books in this genre, our heroine Marie's life goes to Hell in a handbag, she quits her job, she finds out her boyfriend is not faithful all the while memories of her childhood dream of opening a B&B come to the forefront of her mind. When her Great Aunt dies, leaving her spooky home to Marie, she starts to think those childhood dreams could become a reality, and there is a surprise in store (I am not going to spoil the surprise) This is where the writing really took off, it was not a regurgitation of many books that start this way, Marie does not suddenly start to have magical powers, there is a touch of the paranormal in this and I love the way it is handled. The death that Marie is pulled into investigating is cleverly done, there are some great red herrings and plenty of slow blossoming romance (I do not think they have realised there is a romance yet, but we know there is! A great weekend read that I highly recommend a great well written well thought out plot and you have a book you cannot put down! I received a free copy of this book via Booksprout and am voluntarily leaving a review.

A fun read with great characters, but the details surrounding the commiting of the murder were not very believable to me. The toxic smell of the corrosive material used would have been noticed by an experienced ballooner, I believe. There were also quite a few editing oversights. Still, a nice budding romance & a dog with a " 6th sense," make for an enjoyable book.
