She is the author of Best in Tent Camping: New Jersey (Menasha Ridge Press, 2005) and a full-time freelancer who colors and edits for Marvel Comics, Gemstone Comics, and Kuwait's Teshkeel Media Group. Originally from Northern Virginia, Javins considers herself a New Yorker but has lived in Australia, Barcelona, Uganda, Namibia, New Jersey, and Kuwait over the last five years.
