Ahmet Emuukha Rodan Zappa is the son of late rock musician/composer Frank Zappa and, as he puts it, “My awesome mother, Gail.” Because I’m Your Dad is both a tribute to his happy childhood and a promise to his daughter, Halo. Ahmet grew up with a learning disability and now writes books to help children discover how wonderful reading can be. He and his wife, Shana, are currently collaborating on a new book series, Star Darlings. Shane Muldoon Zappa is a jewelry designer and writer who was born and raised in Los Angeles. She has an endless imagination and a passion to inspire positivity through her many artistic endeavors. She and her husband, Ahmet Zappa, collaborated on Star Darlings just in time for their magical little girl and biggest inspiration, Halo Violetta Zappa. Ahmet Zappa is a New York Times best-selling author of Because I'm Your Dad and The Monstrous Memoirs of a Mighty McFearless. He writes and produces films and television, and loves pancakes and unicorns and making funny faces for Halo and Shana.

Shannon Bonatakis is an illustrator and painter who commonly portrays people as her subject matter. She was born in Brooklyn and grew up in Orlando. Her work has been featured in publications and art galleries across America. Shannon lives in Denver with her husband, Josh, and their adorable puppy, Enid Coleslaw.
