What a beautifully told and tragic odissee portraying an exiled Caesar-like figure in the far 23rd century, his good and bad traits, and his resilient fight with fate to the very end. A true masterpiece. I hope one day this book will be made into a movie as well.

This is one of the best stat trek novels I have ever read. The first time I read it I could not put it down. 5 stars isn't enough, 10 would be more accurate.

The only book that I've ever read in just one day. I was captivated by the entire story. Very well written.
