About the author
Canberra-based consultant historian Ann-Mari Jordens holds post-graduate degrees from the Universities of Sydney and Melbourne, and has published widely on citizenship, immigration, war and society, and Australian cultural history. Her books include Alien to Citizen: Settling Migrants in Australia 1945–75, Redefining Australians: Immigration, Citizenship and National Identity, and The Stenhouse Circle: Literary Life in Mid-Nineteenth Century Sydney.
