What would happen to the world if the sun went out?

New epic sci-fi from Stephen Baxter, the award-winning author whose credits include co-authorship of the Long Earth series with Terry Pratchett.

By the middle of the 21st century, humanity has managed to overcome a series of catastrophic events and maintain some sense of stability. Space exploration has begun again. Science has led the way.

But then one day, the sun goes out. Solar panels are useless, and the world begins to freeze

Earth begins to fall out of its orbit.

The end is nigh.

Had some interesting technology plots that were unique and fun to read, but the relationships were boring among the main characters and the dialogue weak. Closing plot was unfulfilling. I wouldn't recommend.

until this book i could never put a bacter book down....this is the first book for pleasure i literally gave up on 46% of the way thru...started off ok then just....boring...felt like the whole experience was a living room chat/character development exercise between 4 or 5 characters...where the setting kind of changed. again im a stephen baxter fan...this one was just off....to me.

Slow slog to finish. And other reviewers were right, endless meetings and conferences take up the bulk of the story.
