i must say those used to the newer era of Doctor Who, or rather anything after the 3rd Doctor, may be uninterested in Cole's less involved TARDIS crew. This story shines more through the use of the 'secondary' cast of soldiers and the plot itself. WARNING: Roughly 3/4 of the way through Cole cleverly writes multiple characters viewpoints through the use of a choose your adventure style format. While this works with the original print, e-readers may find themselves easily lost.

So far half way through the book and the Doctor,Polly and Ben aren't involved much at all. Like Michael Moorcroft's Doctor Who novel it's only by name

The only issue I really have in this book is the 'choose your path' section of the story.

About the author

Stephen Cole liked books, and so went to the University of East Anglia to read more of them. Later on he started writing them too, with more TV and film tie-ins than he cares to admit to along the way. He has been the voice of a Dalek and an editor of fiction and non-fiction book titles for various publishers, including the Doctor Who novels The Feast of the Drowned and The Art of Destruction.
