About this ebook

Lectio divina is an ancient spiritual practice that can help us to hear God speaking to us through the words of Scripture. In recent times, Pope Benedict XVI and a Synod of Bishops have recommended that lay people pray with the Scriptures using this method. In this book, respected biblical scholar Stephen J. Binz chooses one of the three Mass readings for each Sunday in cycles A, B, and C during Lent, including the complete text of the reading. Then he leads readers through the steps of lectio divina—reading, meditation, prayer, contemplation, and action—by suggesting themes and verses on which to focus.
- Discussion questions are provided for each of the Sunday readings.
- A perfect Lenten resource for both individuals and parish groups.
