Oh I really enjoyed this one. A romantic suspense read with second chance romance trope and family drama. It's easy-to-read, sweet, engaging and entertaining. I can feel the romance frome the get go, this book definitely heavy on the romance part. The mystery behind the attack of Hero's love interest is pretty solid, even though I guessed it correctly, even though I wished it won't go to that kind of directions, but still it's a good mystery.

Corruption is running rampant in a small town near Fort Bragg in California. Someone tried to murder Opal who with mom Ruby and dad’s ex-partner Marshal is in hiding. Steve and Reyes of the Seals for Hire Guardians have come in to protect Opal and investigate the corruption. Who can you trust? Lots of mysteries AND suspects AND surprises in this story! Linda

Steven and Opal were really close friends years ago, but like anything they lost touch but now Steven can help Opal and they get to see the spark they have for each other. There are times where everything feels so twisted in the world as well as frustrating with not knowing who and why they attacked Opal and so aggressively. I liked how you never knew who to trust and it took a lot of unraveling to get the answers. I received a free copy of this book and am voluntarily leaving a review.
