If you're the writer Brigid Lowry, you change tack and write a book about what it means to be an ageing woman in the 21st century. In Still Life with Teapot Lowry offers advice, observations, hope and reality checks in equal measure. She drops us straight into the writer's world into the nuts and bolts of writing practice and into the art of life and ways to write about it.Still Life with Teapot is an essential brew for people who love to make lists, for people who love to write and for people who love to read about writing.

About the author

The daughter of a typographer, Brigid Lowry began her writing career by self-publishing two dreadful poems when she was eight. She spent her twenties living in a Buddhist community, veered into performance poetry in in her thirties, and subsequently gained a masters degree in Creative Writing before writing eight award-winning young adult books. She is a Zen student, a socialist, a creative writing teacher, an introvert who talks too fast, a drifter and dreamer who loves the world of words. Brigid likes movies, travel, walking and hanging around in libraries. She believes in nectarines, coloured pencils and op shops, and in encouraging others to live with authenticity and joy.
