Dieser ist fasziniert von Stines genügsamem und gutmütigem Wesen und beginnt fortan um sie zu werben, indem er sie regelmäßig besucht. Es bahnt sich eine zarte Liebesbeziehung an, bis Waldemar entgegen aller Konvention um Stines Hand anhält.
