Kris wrapped both arms around Kathy in a gentle hug. ?You know how small Grandma?s new house is. There simply isn?t room for Elan and me, plus two kids. The bed will be crowded enough with just Jace and me; Elan would have to sleep on the couch. And he?s so big?so tall, I mean,? she corrected with an impish grin when Kathy?s fair cheeks burned, ?that you know it would never work.
?Now I?m counting on you to take good care of him while I?m gone,? she added, stepping back again. ?You know he can?t cook worth a damn, unless it?s on the grill. And even Elan can?t survive on just steak and barbequed ribs for a whole week.?
?Well, but??
?Kathy.? Kris?s reply was soft with compassion. ?You and I both know that you?re madly head-over-heels in love with Elan. I don?t begrudge you that, as I?m madly head-over-heels with him myself. But I can?t give him what he needs for another six weeks, and it?s driving us both crazy. So this is your golden chance to take my place for a few days.?
?B-b-but?? This time Kathy stuttered like a machine gun, and her cheeks flamed scarlet.
Kris only chuckled. ?Make it count,? she advised?then hoisted the bulky diaper bag over her shoulder, and headed outside to finish packing the car. ?Have fun while I?m gone!?
Kathy watched her drive away. Then she jumped, and her heart began to hammer wildly, when Elan?s long arm casually dropped around her shoulders. Kris was right?she?d been in love with her sister?s husband ever since she?d been a young girl. Bad enough that Kris had realized it?did Elan know, too?
Before she could pursue that troubling thought, his arm tightened in a careless hug. ?Well, it?s just you and me for the next week, Kat,? he grinned. ?What would you like to do first??
The blaze of color that warmed her cheeks betrayed her fanciful daydreams. Elan flashed her another quick grin, then bent over and kissed the tip of her nose. ?We?ll have plenty of time for anything your heart desires. But for now, I want to grab a quick swim. Join me??
She barely managed to choke back a strangled whimper as he tossed his shirt to one side, revealing rippling muscles and a thick mat of dark hair on his chest, then shoved his pants off.

Carefully she kept her eyes on his, and tried to ignore how sexy he looked. More than anything, she wanted to look down, down, down?

Wildfire burned in her belly as she stared at his rippling muscles, his washboard stomach, the elastic band of his water-soaked shorts?
?All of me, Kat.? His low voice was hypnotic as he moved his hand even lower. He enjoyed the glazed wonder that filled her eyes as she followed his rhythmic movements with rapt fascination. ?A man?s body can?t lie. I want you more than you could possibly imagine!?
